Toponymie
Du nom Antoine Parmentier (1737-1813), pharmacien militaire, agronome, nutritionniste et hygiéniste français. Il est surtout connu pour son action de promotion en faveur de la consommation de la pomme de terre dans l'alimentation humaine, mais aussi pour ses travaux sur l'hygiène alimentaire, l'utilisation de nouveaux aliments durant les fréquentes périodes de famine.
